Tom and Jerry
This game has been released as freeware by the game's programmer
Tom and Jerry, which was released commercially a looong time ago by Hi-Tech Expressions, who have long since gone out of business, is perfect evidence that sometimes a game doesn't have to be new or cutting edge in any way in order to be fun.
Tom & Jerry is a pretty simple platformer, composed of ten absolutely brilliantly designed levels, all of which are sure to challenge even the most acclomplished platform gamer. There are, additionally, 5 boss levels. Aesthetically, this game is pretty good considering that this was released 10 years ago (I even bought the game way back then), although the sound is noticeably bad stuff emitted by the PC's internal speaker. The nearly flawless platform gameplay is where this game really shines, though. Also note that the entire game is a mere 320 kilobytes, which will take less than a couple of minutes to download even with a 14k modem :p.
Use the Number Pad (not the 'regular' arrow keys) to control Tom. 'Ctrl' jumps, 'Alt' shoots, and 'Spacebar' changes weapons, which vary from marbles to other little toys.

Wire Hang Redux
Wire Hang Redux is a very simple game, much like Icy Tower. Like Icy Tower, this game's goal is to climb up platforms, being careful not to fall below the reach of the screen. Unlike Icy Tower, in this game, you latch onto platforms with a grappling hook instead of jumping onto them. As you climb higher and higher, so does the screen. The screen scrolls as you move, not vice-versa. As you reach greater heights, the platforms you must latch onto will get smaller and smaller, making them more difficult to aim for with your grappling hook.
This simple premise makes for a fun and addictive game, with gameplay on par with games such as Icy Tower and DOWN!!. However, the sound and graphics are a different story. Wire Hang Redux has no sound. None whatsoever. No music, not even the clank of metal against stone as your grappling hook reaches a platform. If it weren't for the excellent gameplay, this game would be very boring. Some good music and sounds could really add to the game. But they are absent. Wire Hang Redux's graphics are nothing special when you play in Windowed mode, and an eyesore in fullscreen. Many people like to play games in fullscreen, but I assure you that you won't even get the temptation when you play Wire Hang Redux.
Despite the plain graphics and lack of sound, Wire Hang Redux's gameplay shines through in the end. And, if you like to play music in the background while you play games, the lack of music shouldn't be a problem. At only 1/3 of a megabyte, Wire Hang Redux is worth the download, especially if you're into simple arcade-style games.

Rapid Fire DX
Rapid Fire DX comes packaged with the original version and a modern version enhanched by DirectX visual effects. The graphics in the game are are both crisp and clear and with a classic arcadian feeling - both the parallax starry background as well as the sprites. Firstly, I played the classic version which was extremely easy in the beginning and you would have to enter level 7 before you reach any restistance. With only 1 life allotted, if you get killed by a space mine or an enemy ship, you would have to progress all lower actionless levels to reach the higher levels of more fun - a tedious progress. On the flipside, the original adaptation is faithful if that's what you want. Naturally, the spiced-up DX version provides the same action but with cool quasi-3D effects. I say "quasi" because we are still in a side-scolling universe.

Adea: Devils and Angels
Adea: Devils and Angels is, at best, a disappointing attempt at creating a free-roaming console style platformer in the same vein as the far, far, far superior Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie.
My experience with Adea got less and less enjoyable as I progressed in the screenshot viewing, downloading, installation, and, eventually, playing the game itself. Not that I took anything off the score for it, but Adea, although only a little over 8 megs, takes a loooong time to download . I'm talking 2kbps, with DSL. I left my computer on overnight in antcipation that this would be a great, one-of-a-kind game. Yet, once again, I have been deceived by the pretty pictures that are screenshots.
Upon booting up and starting to play Adea, I realized that this was not the great game that I hoped it to be. It was, however, an enjoyable romp through a rather pretty world featuring some incredibly stupid enemies and some incredibly annoying jumping sequences. The basic premise, as I first thought at least, is to collect all of the crystals in the level and make your way to the exit, which is a pool of dark liquidy stuff. Mid-way through the first level, however, I was passing by the ever-appearant exit pool and became curious as to what would happen should I exit the level before completing it. This was where Adea's score plummeted a good 3 points: I walked into the exit...and finished the level. I wondered if perhaps I had already collected a sufficient amount of crystals, if not all of them, and thus was able to proceed. This was not the case; I strolled through level 2 without picking up one crystal, and beat it in under 20 seconds. Level 3 featured a stupidly glitchy boss character, 'Death'. I beat him/it without much problem, and thus went on to finish the game. I wouldn't bet my savings over it (who am I kidding? I don't have any savings), but I'm pretty sure that the game can be beaten in under 4 minutes, if not quicker. Of course, should you feel the incentive to, you could try to 100% the game, in which case you'd probably get more enjoyment (thus a 4/10 rather than, say, a 2/10). Still, even if you do get everything, 3 levels just ain't enough. It really is a shame that Adea turned out to be what it is, because the game obviously has some potential. If you're curious, and don't mind waiting 3+ hours for an 8 meg download, then go ahead and try it out. Everyone else: Stay far, far, far, away.
Bottom Line: Adea is not neccesarily a truly bad game, it just suffers from quite a few noticeable flaws, glitches, and gameplay problems, which set it way back from being what it could have been.
Note: Despite the arguably controversial name, this game contains absolutely nothing that may be viewed as offensive, and thus earns a Kid-Safe rating.
Note: A head-honcho at Full Sail (a programming school) informed me that Adea was actually a 2-month project in which it's creators had to 'show their stuff'. So I may add that for a 100% original game made in only 2 months, Adea is, from a technical stand-point and for those that can appreciate it, a pretty fine showing. Thanks to the aforementioned head-honcho for this information.

CaveShip
I would say that this game is strictly for gamers who enjoy maneuvering an airplane through narrow caves, because this is exactly what CaveShip is about. The game has a couple of highlights, of which I think the scoring system stands out the most with its technically intelligent design. The graphics of the cave structure are simple and unattractive - unless we take into account cave 3 which is built on a rather ranchy theme. This particular cave also makes the entire game unsuitable for kids to play. The game comes with 10 levels, a level editor, and a replay option.
