Apart from the fact that this is a unique first-person snake in its overall game concept, but the whole gaming experince is really cool! You can select your prespective (eg first-person viewing) as you move around in the 3D environment with very neat lighting and texturing. The download is huge, but it's well worth it. The source code can be downloaded at the author's homepage. You can also download the source code of their own developed openGL game engine called Aquarium (used in Snok).

Vertrix 2 
Vertrix 2 plays like columns. However, it has a multiplay modes, a story line, and a cool power-up system. The graphics and sounds are impressive and the levels are thematic to prevent the graphics from getting dull.
This update adds a new character, a new magic system, and more bonuses. It also adds new backgrounds, music, and many other improvements. This game was created with the Watcom C++ Compiler.

Deluxe Pacman
Some games you never grow too old to play, and pacman is one of them. In this particular pacman clone called Deluxe Pacman you will find all the classic elements of its original, and you will also find contemporary powerups that nicely add spunk to the old pacman rules. The AI of the ghosts is perfectly balanced to make the most out of each level. You also have the option to change the skill level in the game menu. The graphics are smooth, and particularly I enjoyed the facial animated expressions of the ghosts. The game comes with good background music as well. If you weren't a pacman maniac before, this game may turn you into one! I give it a strong 9/10 rating.
With this updated version, the game has now 63 levels and graphics at higher resolution.
A note for programmers: This game was create with the MingW32 free C++ compiler, and the Allegro game library.

Dr Horst
This German creation called Dr Horst may seem trivial and without graphical refinement at a first glance - but you are being deceived! It's a perfectly balanced game with great playablity and highly mind-challenging excitment. The sparse graphical effects feel just right. So without further ado, grab this game with 20 levels of great fun! Needless to say, this is a clone of the classic Nintendo game called Dr Mario that came out in the late 80's.
NOTE: The game comes without instructions so here it is: Connect four of the same color with the ulitmate goal in mind to eliminate the colored "mini-monsters" on the board.

Jardinains!
It's noticable that the author of Jardinains! has been inspired by both the tradiation Breakout game but also from features in DX-ball. This doesn't negate the fact that Jardinains! features unique effects and fun surprises. What makes this game stand out amongst other breakout games is the gnomes (elves) - and not just any gnomes. They cause mischief and they interfer with your playing in a multitude of ways. The gnome attitude in Jardinains! feels like a fresh whiff of raw and invigorating fun. The game has 50 levels and numerous cool powerups such as shields, laserguns and splitting balls. Jardinains! is very family friendly and easy to play for all ages, however that comes with a slight drawback. Namely it's just too easy to progress through the levels, which dropped my rating one notch. Yet, this is an excellent and creative breakout clone.
