Robotron Blitz
Robotron Blitz is a much harder, action-packed version of Robotron. On the first level of Robotron, you go up against nearly ten robots that slowly close in on you. In the first level of Robotron Blitz, you go up against nearly 20 of these goons. That number soon multiplies, and before you know it, you're fighting to escape a sea of robots. Once the little purple brain things start to appear, all hope of survival is lost. And did I mention that when you die, you have to start the level over (When you die in Robotron, the enemies you've killed stay dead)? The only thing Robotron Blitz does to ease the pain is give you a dodge move. This move lets you jump over all of your foes to safety, without being harmed. Still, the game is so much harder than the game it's based off of.
Robotron Blitz's graphics are average Multimedia Fusion stuff, but you'll be too busy trying to stay alive to care. The sound is pretty good, and your character will yell out phrases as levels are started, robots are killed, and civilians are saved. The music is energetic, and fits the game's atmosphere perfectly. The graphics and sound only seem to make the game more action-packed.
If you're looking for a Robotron clone, you've got plenty of games to choose from (I would personally recommend Gearbolt Rage over this), and you wouldn't be wrong to choose Robotron Blitz. As long as you're up for the challenge, that is.

SMACK A THIEF!
Check out this recent freeware release by Blue Byte, the developers of The Settlers series. You've hired some guards to protect your gold and silver from thieves. Unfortunately, the guards like to party too much and won't protect your wealth unless you smack 'em upside the head. While you're at it, smack the thieves to keep them away from your riches. In fact, smack everything in sight, because you never know what you'll find! To smack someone or something, just use your mouse. Hold down the left mouse button for more power. Smacking robbers is not your only recourse, however; you can also bomb 'em or light 'em on fire!
Smack-a-Thief! has excellent graphics, music, funny sound fx, a high scores list, decent help - and no setup is required to play. This game is well worth the download!
NOTES: Click on the game's title above to go to the home page, where you can participate in forums, upload your highest score, possibly become a beta tester, win prizes, and much more! Santa Under Siege
This is a fairly gory game, but nevertheless fun. It has quite a nice story and the gameplay is very good. The game itself plays very well and the author did a good job, but they forgot some basics like an in-game menu for saving and quitting! You being the only brownie left along with Santa have to stop evil mutant toys and save the world with an arsenal of weapons. Santa communicates with you through a radio. This game is extremely gory, and you see mutant gibbets all over the floor, and therefore this game should be played by a mature audience.

Sentry
In this 3-dimensional game, you travel from place to place by putting blocks and robots on tiles. You can then teleport to your robots, which will be on higher or lower ground if the blocks are used properly. You can absorb energy from any object in the game if you can select the tile of that object. The Sentries will absorb your energy and creat meanies, so you can be killed quickly if too much of your energy is absorbed. However, you can absorb sentinels and meanies if you are fast enough. In addition to various difficulty and resolution settings, one of the most interesting features of this game is sterioscopic mode. Using the instructions provided on the web page, you can create red/green glasses and turn on 3d mode for this game, changing the effects of the game so that everything is 3-dimensional. This game is very confusing, it takes a while to even understand how to play.

Shaolin Soldier
Shaolin Soldier is a funny high-quality 2D scrolling game where you jump on the baddies' head to kill them, and with lots of powerups to collect. Beware of the skulls! Maybe I am biased somewhat because I enjoy side-scrollers alot, but nevertheless I give this game the highest rating for the combination of fun gameplay, good graphics and well-designed sound effects and music.
