  Ultimate Super Stack
Ultimate Super Stack is an insanely addictive puzzle game. It is a sequel to Super Stack, though I felt this game was alot better. Although it has a format similar to that of the almighty Tetris, it is quite different, as you will see from playing. It is a long game, with 55 levels, but by no means that is a bad thing. It is 55 levels of pure fun. The object of the game is to get a certain number of stars, by trapping existing stars between objects, and by creating chain-reactions. As zany as this sounds, playing the game is fun, and surprisingly it has a very easy learning curve. People who program in Qbasic will know of this award winning game, which won the 2001 QB Gaming Gold Award Winner for Best Sound/Sound Editing and Best Puzzle Game. I have been playing this game for a while now, and decided it needs to come here. From a technical standpoint, this game is superb. Although it is made in Qbasic (commonly percieved to be notoriously slow), it runs flicker-free, with great graphics, and superb sound, with the help of DirectQB, a programming library for Qbasic. The gameplay is superb, and almost flawless. At the start, you play through some tutorial levels, where the wizard-like entity in the game gives you hints and playing methods. And if you still feel overwhelmed by the gameplay, you can read the comprehensive manual by the author explaining everything, along with little ASCII drawings of the board. Overall, (especially for a QBasic/DOS game) this game is almost flawless. It is more fun that most Tetris clones, or anything that uses that idea. It has different play modes as well. Anyone will enjoy it, as the game is very kid-safe, and actually kid-friendly, with nice colourful drawings, but adults just the same will be drawn in by the game's charm. This game is a definate download, and a must for all puzzle loving gamers.

  Ultra Flexball 2000
This game reminds me strongly of DX-ball. It is almost exactly like it but in my opinion surpasses it because of the fact that you can make your own level packs, it has more bricks, and you can use backgrounds, and much, much, MUCH more. It has many powerups to give you abilities that you can use to get extra points. It includes a level editor with the game. It has ONE HUNDRED different types of bricks! The magnificent level editor lets you make your own level packs! Great game play and graphics. A must have! Be sure not to miss out on this download, I promise that you will not regret it! You will love this game if you enjoy ball and paddle type games. Hint: Get the green powerups with the balls in them and enjoy!

  WarRock
About 6 months ago I reviewed WarRock, a fun Battlefield 2 clone with limited features. Then it was closed to the public, and the closed beta began. It is currently in the open beta state, but since it's already got the feature set of a complete game, I'm not qualifying it as a preview. Just like Battlefield 2, WarRock has 5 classes, each with their own weapons, and battles revolve around capturing control points. The classes are a little unbalanced, but no class is useless. WarRock does feature some things Battlefield 2 doesn't. The gameplay is faster, and you can run or roll to avoid enemy fire. Rolling works well for avoiding enemy fire, and might be just what you need to stay alive, when only a few hits will kill you. WarRock has you battling across 11 maps using a standard array of weapons. As you level up and earn cash, you can rent more powerful weapons for anywhere between 3 and 30 days. The three modes all offer unique experiences: Mission charges you with the task of either setting or disarming bombs in close-quarters levels, and ups the intensity by giving you only one life. Infantry has you deathmatching across medium-sized levels, all of which contain vehicles such as tanks, bikes, and jeeps. The third mode offers vehicular combat across huge levels, with boats, planes, and helicopters. The level design in WarRock ranges from great to terrible. For example, Cantumira has plenty of tanks and Jeeps, but dividers littering the roadway can make them all useless. On the other hand, most city levels offer great close-quarters combat, with plenty of routes and positions for hiding or sniping. WarRock's community is divided up into two parties: the newbies who downloaded the game sometime in the last month, and the hardcore players who were there all through the closed beta. I found it easy to find a good crowd to play with, though many people used words like "nub" and "hax0r" liberally. WarRock has a few strange flaws; occupied vehicles sometimes pass right through people, and helicopters have no parachutes. You may also be shot to death even if it doesn't appear someone's aiming at you, though that's common in online games. Make sure you're above water when you go crashing down in flames. But despite little things like that, WarRock is great fun and worth the download for anyone with a connection to handle it. It's 270 MB, so unless you have a great connection, set aside some time for it to download. NOTE: Download links to download page, and you also must register on the website. Yes, your screenname really does have to be 6-10 lowercase letters/numbers. Sorry.

  WordSearch
This amazing word search program has everything. You can make your own puzzle, you can choose from many different puzzles that come with the game, and you can even change the difficulty level by changing the size and possible directions of the words. The game allows you to play on the computer or you can print the puzzle and its solutions. It even lets you choose if you want capital or lower case letters. If you enjoy word search puzzles or need to make one, this program is the best choice for it.
