Fireworks II
Fireworks 2 is a lot like Fireworks. You still control a barrel of fireworks which can be shot at your enemies. The game still has nice graphics and sound. The main difference is that there are 5 new levels and the graphics are completely different. In addition, the game becomes progressively harder and health bonuses are occassionally given. Those who enjoyed Fireworks will probably like Fireworks II.

Hard Hat: The Rebellion
Hard Hat: The Rebellion like Megabot before it, is a side-scrolling platform-shooter which basically takes the gameplay from classic Capcom series Megaman and brings it to PC, while at the same time being different enough to stand alone as their own games. Well, perhaps the last statement only applies to Megabot, as Hard Hat is a game that is set entirley in the Megaman universe.
The plot basically centres around your character Hard Hat, a servant to the evil Dr Wiley, turning traitor and joing with the good guys to defeat his former master. Nothing new here.
Graphics-wise, theres not a great need to say much. The various sprites are well done, and look good, however backgrounds, while occasionally animated, still feel like they hark back to the days of the original NES console, often looking pretty dated.
Musically, it's a MIDI-lovers paradise, the bleeping tunes taking you back to the very early 90's, and effects are the cheerful bleeps and bloops of the original Nintendo clasics. This is probably my only major gripe with the game, as even though the authour has attempted to stick closely to the original Megaman, some more modern music would have given it just that little bit extra.
Gameplay is like digging around in your garage/attic/basement and finding that old console you thought you'd lost. Its the classic formula of getting from point A to point B, while jumping gaps, collecting powerups, and blowing up baddies. And for a concept thats about as old as I am, its still a load of fun. And unlike so many tributes (Sonic games in particular) Hard Hat actually plays just as well as its inspiration, which is a definate plus. However, potential downloaders beware, Hard Hat is very hard. Very, very hard. As in the original series, you have no structured levels and can beat them in any order you like, but completing the levels in the "right" order gives you a power-up which makes the other levels easier/possible. So what this boils down to is a process of trial and error as you try out different levels until you find the one thats slightly less difficult then the rest. However, all of the levels are challenging, so those who hate dieing over and over again should probably look elsewhere.
Overall, if you love old-school platforming fun, grab Hard Hat right away, but if you're the sort of person who refuses to touch 2D with a 20-foot pole, you'd best stay away.
Note: Due to the lack of nervous-systems in robots, Hard Hat is completely Kid-Safe.

Ignac
Ignac is a game for all ages. It's about this little kid who doesn't like to do his math homework. Instead he wants to sneak out the house. Can you help him? This game is monumental in terms of its cartoon animations and background graphic! It's just awesome. The gameplay is easy and follows the tradition of an adventure game. You point and click at objects that you will need to solve the quest of finding your way out. The author calls Ignac a demo game and I asked him why. He said only for the sole reason that the game is somewhat short. Despite that, it's still not trivial to solve.

Janitor Dan the Spaceman
Janitor Dan is an original and fun game involving battling space pirates, and cleaning space stations.
Janitor Dan is mostly about searching for and eliminating filth inside of labrynthine space stations. You must wield a plunger, vaccum, squegee, and a vaporising mouse-trap to accomplish this.
The controls are very simple, yet effective. The arrow keys, ctrl, and spacebar are all that is required.
There are all sorts of enemies, like space lizards, robotic bombs, and other things packed into this humorous game.
The graphics are cartoony, yet proffesional. I liked them alot.
The sound is just right for what is going on. Vaccums, lasers, explosions, it's all there.
This is a great game not to be missed.

Jardinains!
It's noticable that the author of Jardinains! has been inspired by both the tradiation Breakout game but also from features in DX-ball. This doesn't negate the fact that Jardinains! features unique effects and fun surprises. What makes this game stand out amongst other breakout games is the gnomes (elves) - and not just any gnomes. They cause mischief and they interfer with your playing in a multitude of ways. The gnome attitude in Jardinains! feels like a fresh whiff of raw and invigorating fun. The game has 50 levels and numerous cool powerups such as shields, laserguns and splitting balls. Jardinains! is very family friendly and easy to play for all ages, however that comes with a slight drawback. Namely it's just too easy to progress through the levels, which dropped my rating one notch. Yet, this is an excellent and creative breakout clone.
