Strike
The beauty of Japanese art has once again unearthed, and this time in a magnificently designed puzzle game called Strike. I just keep marvelling at the cool cartoonish animation of the anime character and the very classy looking gameboard. The levels (a total of 55) have been designed with mindful precision which makes it so you almost make it to the end of a level unless you take one wrong turn. As you progress through the levels, more special bricks are being introduced such as transporters and non-destroyable blicks. But in essense, you are to collect all diamonds and then reach the platform. The game instructions are in Japanese but the above intro is basically all you need to know. Also, to begin the game press Z.

Trooper
This clone of paratroopers is not faithful at all. This game has nice music, graphics and sound. In Trooper, you control a small base and shoot tons of lasers (or other weapons, if you pick them up) This game still has the paratroops with the parachute for you to shoot, but they bleed, and the ships explode. Also, this game has tons of fun power-ups, as long as you DON'T shoot the thin green ship. If you do, all your fancy ammo will explode. Game includes 3 difficulty levels and a top score board for each.

Ultimate Super Stack
Ultimate Super Stack is an insanely addictive puzzle game. It is a sequel to Super Stack, though I felt this game was alot better. Although it has a format similar to that of the almighty Tetris, it is quite different, as you will see from playing. It is a long game, with 55 levels, but by no means that is a bad thing. It is 55 levels of pure fun.
The object of the game is to get a certain number of stars, by trapping existing stars between objects, and by creating chain-reactions. As zany as this sounds, playing the game is fun, and surprisingly it has a very easy learning curve.
People who program in Qbasic will know of this award winning game, which won the 2001 QB Gaming Gold Award Winner for Best Sound/Sound Editing and Best Puzzle Game. I have been playing this game for a while now, and decided it needs to come here.
From a technical standpoint, this game is superb. Although it is made in Qbasic (commonly percieved to be notoriously slow), it runs flicker-free, with great graphics, and superb sound, with the help of DirectQB, a programming library for Qbasic.
The gameplay is superb, and almost flawless. At the start, you play through some tutorial levels, where the wizard-like entity in the game gives you hints and playing methods. And if you still feel overwhelmed by the gameplay, you can read the comprehensive manual by the author explaining everything, along with little ASCII drawings of the board.
Overall, (especially for a QBasic/DOS game) this game is almost flawless. It is more fun that most Tetris clones, or anything that uses that idea. It has different play modes as well. Anyone will enjoy it, as the game is very kid-safe, and actually kid-friendly, with nice colourful drawings, but adults just the same will be drawn in by the game's charm. This game is a definate download, and a must for all puzzle loving gamers.

Ultra Flexball 2000
This game reminds me strongly of DX-ball. It is almost exactly like it but in my opinion surpasses it because of the fact that you can make your own level packs, it has more bricks, and you can use backgrounds, and much, much, MUCH more. It has many powerups to give you abilities that you can use to get extra points. It includes a level editor with the game. It has ONE HUNDRED different types of bricks! The magnificent level editor lets you make your own level packs! Great game play and graphics. A must have! Be sure not to miss out on this download, I promise that you will not regret it! You will love this game if you enjoy ball and paddle type games. Hint: Get the green powerups with the balls in them and enjoy!
