  Orbiter
Do you have 20 million dollars or are you an astronaut? I didn't think so. The second best thing you can do if you still want to explore space is to play this game. It's a phenomenal 3D space simulator that brings you on a inter-planetary adventure with realism that will make you see stars (pun intended). Due to its realism, it's necessary that the game engine is very complex which brings up the next issue namely the gameplay. Even though you must give credit for the game's elegance and for superbly incorporating complex astrophysical equations for the ultimate cosmic experience, there is no action, no flashy explosion or battle with alien ships. Orbiter is a flight simulator in space - no more and no less. This is also the beauty of the game. You fly around in space, deploying in missions such as landing and docking. The game comes with a handful of scenarios, ships and ship editor, and many addons on the author's homepage. For complete and lenghty documentation read the pdf files in the /Doc folder that are included with the game. In summary, I liked the game for its scientific exactness and precision and for the elegantly 3D rendering of space. The less encouraging fact (a consequent of the game's complexity) is that you need lots of practice flying and studying of manuals before you are able to have some real fun.

  PacVenture
PacVenture is a nice variation on the classic pacman game with only 2D mazes. Here you start out in a city with roads, parks and more. The 3D top-perspective gives the game an idea of a virual reality pacman world which is pretty neat. As with the original pacman game you have the ghosts that you have to stay away from or you will loose a life if they get you. To pass a level you have to eat the blue dots (ALL the dots) and that will bring you to the next level. Some dots may be hidden behind trees etc. Here is a tip to pass the first level: Check all 4 paths leading to the water fountain for dots to eat. I preferred to turn off the background music so I could hear the sound effects better.

  Pipiru the Archer
The full title of this Japanese game production is "Pipiru the Archer Practice Special". It is designated to entertain gamers who look for simple fun without raw and rude action. It's packaged with 40 levels in which you play the role of an archer who has to hit all moving targets, such as apples and other benevolent objects. I am mostly and highly impressed by the graphics which surpass that of most other games I have played regardless of genre. It has a professional and artful cartoon design that I just cannot take my eyes off - even tiny details such as the animated bufferflies have been carefully crafted. As mentioned above, the gameplay is very easy to immediately grasp, so even the youngest child can joyfully play Pipiru the Archer. The game menu allows you to skip right to the more difficult levels. The built-in timer is what really makes some levels beyond trivial to complete, although some of the introductory levels you may finish in just a few seconds.

  Power Shooter
Like the old fashioned retro-shooters, but never could find anything close to it on your PC? Power Shooter is a great alternative to an old arcade. With great action, speed, and never ending fun, this game is one of the best shoot-em-ups I have ever seen! The game doesnt have the prettiest graphics, but they do their job very well. The sounds in the game are magnificent, and the music really gets you going. The screen is always full of action, and will never have a dull moment. Anyone who is a shoot-em up fan: get this one! NOTE: Documents included are Japanese, but the game is in English.

  Pysol
Pysol is gigantic set of solitaire games. It includes multiple cardsets and new cardsets can be obtained at the Pysol homepage (but must be manually copied to the appropriate installation directory). Pysol includes card games, Hanafuda games, the Towers of Hanoi puzzle, and various other games for a total of about 300 games. Pysol 4.2 is an older version of Pysol which has some games that the newer version does not. This is version 4.60 of Pysol. The versions on the homepage are newer but are not compiled as Windows executable files.
