Project Gun Viper
Project Gun Viper is one of the most fun and aesthetically impressive shooters I have ever played. The game features amazing 3d graphics, epic music, solid sound effects, and hectic, over the top gameplay.
Project Gun Viper is also pretty innovative in the gameplay department. Every enemy that you kill drops a little cube of one of 3 colors: Blue, green and purple. These cubes all replenish your health to different degrees, but even more important is that the more of these cubes you collect, the better weapons you can by on the aircraft carrier, which comes near the beginning of every level. These cubes also give you points towards your high-score. The high-score list can be seen on the games homepage. These cubes give you reason to play the game over again so that you can see all the weapons available, since you most probably will not do well enough your first couple of times through to buy the better weapon upgrades.
Gun Viper features only 3 medium sized levels, so it won't take long to beat, especially since you have unlimited continues. Still, I found myself going back to beat the game on all 5 of the difficulty levels and each time trying to keep down my "Continue" rate. You just don't feel satisfied after beating a game like this by using life after life carelessly. Each level in Gunviper features a huge-over-the-top boss, such as traditional in the shoot-'em-up genre :-).
The graphics are amazing. Everything is in full 3d, is very nicely detailed, and animates extremely smoothly. The levels themselves are just as nice. The sound in Gun Viper is really a cut above most other games in its genre. Epic, Star Wars-ish music plays in the backround and all the sound effects in the game are excellent and come across clear and solid. It's hard to describe sound effects, but these ones are really excellent.
Bottom Line: Gun Viper is simply a great game. There could be a couple more levels, but the game is so much fun to play over and over again that I did not take anything off it's overall score for the games shortness. An awesome shooter that I cannot recommend highly enough.

Note: It seems that people have been having trouble extracting the files with Winzip. I too had that problem. To extract the files you can use WinRAR, which is available at www.winrar.com . The 40 day trial is free and it is a great program.

RoX
The game company Safrosoft has done a excellent job creating this game. RoX reminisces the classic Boulder-Dash game but with many more ingredients - spicy ingredients! My first wowing came when I saw the animated rolling of the boulders - real cool! The game is packed with smooth cool action and fun, with a pinch of logic thinking required. The game comes with as many as 69 levels of which you can enter only the first 5 levels from the game menu. Your mission is to collect all onions before entering the level portal which will bring you onto the next level. You can also shoot missiles and place bombs. A level editor is includes. This update includes bug fixes and a cheat to unlock all levels.

Rock It
In this game, your goal is to fire rocks, papers, and scissors at the rocks, papers, and scissors circling around the game board as rapidly as possible. This game is simple yet fun. It's also highly addictive.

Rocket Raid
This is the best clone of Missile Command I have ever seen. Using pixel explosions and a few graphics for cities, the author of this game has achieved stunning graphics and effects. In addition, extra features such as power-ups and super bombs add lots of fun to the game. Players getting further in the game will encounter new challenges whereas the old game just had faster missiles. The 'bouncing' ship and the dark cloud make the game significantly harder, but good players will not feel cheated by lack of missiles or other tricks; this Missile Command game is fair. It even has nice sound and music. Although this game is not even close to being faithful to the classics, it is still the best in its class.

Seafarers of Catan 3D (Sea3D)
For those who have not played The Settlers of Catan board game, here is a brief overview: you are the commander of a colony on the isle of Catan. Through resource management (and using those resources to build roads, settlements, and cities), you seek to gain 10 "Victory Points" to win the game. "Victory Points" are earned through the amount of settlements and cities you have, special cards, and meeting certain requirements (such as who has the longest continuous road).
When it comes to involving strategy games, The Settlers of Catan is one of the best. This version of the game could also be considered one of the best.
The 3D interface is smooth and responsive. The camera control is simple: hold down the Right Mouse Button to spin the board around and the Mouse Wheel to zoom in and out. It couldn't be simpler to control.
The graphics themselves are like looking down on a real Settlers of Catan hex board, right down to the number tokens. Everything is clear and readable, even up close. You have the choice of the default, more grainy graphics (for anyone with a
slower computer or graphics card) or a "Vivid" OpenGL graphics option that makes the board so real looking, you would swear you could reach out and touch the cardboard hex tiles.
The sounds are very nice and clear. Each move you make is accompanied by a sound: the rolling of wooden dice on the board, sawing and hammering when cities and settlements are built, and the evil laugh of the Robber as he is ready to move on your opponents at the first Seven on the dice.
The game itself plays just like you were playing the real board game surrounded by your friends. Pieces are easy to place and move. Illustrated lines and zones come up that show you where you can place anything you need to. Other than the legend, though, the game has no real help for playing the game itself. While the game is mostly self-guided and doesn't take too long to learn, having the game rules somewhere in the help system would have been a plus.
For those who want to play online, the author's webpage has ladder matches and a chat room, where you can join the large community this game has built.
In short, if you want a great strategy board game to play online or with friends, look no further than this one.
UPDATE: Sea3d has been updated to 1.2.0a. It is a required download, especially if you use the S3D Connector to play online games, as many changes to the website (including online gaming and ranking systems) have occured. Also fixes other minor bugs.
