  5 Days A Stranger
Trilby is a tall, elegant, English gentleman thief. Thanks to an informer, he is heading to the now deserted DeFoe manor, whose owner and wife tragically died recently, hoping for a good booty. But, once he entered the big house, he can't exit; doors and windows leading outside the huge estate can't be opened anymore. Moreover, there's other people inside, trapped like him. And things get even worse when someone dies... So, we have a classic haunted house theme, but the entire game is so well developed over it, that you'll quickly forget this detail. The plot, articulated through the five days of the title, develops greatly, and a lot of reading is involved in getting to know more of the mansion and its former occupants. The atmosphere is one of the game's strong points. Gore is very scarce, there are more fear and terror than visual horror. What I liked the most, are the cutscenes involving situations where you can't tell where reality ends and nightmare starts, or vice versa. In those cases, I was genuinely SCARED. Later in the game, you could be afraid of going on, in fear of witnessing some more bad events. Really a great work on this side. Graphics are nothing to scream about. They just do their work more than decently, reminding me of the Sierra adventures of the late '80s, early 90's. I must point out, however, that a good effort was put into animations, you'll get the chance to see some noticeable ones in action. Music are declaredly taken from the RPG Maker 2000 library, but they fit with the atmosphere. Most of the time, however, it's just silence and strange noises, helping develop the tension. The interface is simple and not invasive. You can use the icons on the bottom of the screen to select the main actions, but it's better to click the right mouse button to recall the complete interface with actions, items and save/load/quit functions. The only annoyance is that you have to move the mouse outside the interface to close it every time. The game is not exactly long, also due to the limited amount of rooms - but, after all, you are confined inside a mansion, so a big variety of locations wasn't to be expected from the start. Some puzzles could prove to be challenging, you may feel clueless about what to do next until you gather the necessary information; remember, often reading is the key. Don't forget to save sometimes: in the second half of the game, there are a couple of situations were you could get killed. There are some game design flaws. You will find, at some points, a couple of objects practically popping out of nowhere at the right time you need them, an artifice I never liked in adventure games. And at times, for example after Trilby heard a strange noise or a bad event just occurred, he talks to other characters like nothing happened. But these problems don't hamper the quality of 5 Days A Stranger too much. It hasn't the lastability of some of the best freeware adventures, but it beats many of them in terms of atmosphere. It's far from perfect, but with such small download size you shouldn't miss it.

  Attack of Mutant Camels
"Attack of the Mutant Camels" which is the full game title, is a remake of this pivotal game! It's based on Jeff Minter's shooter classic from the 80's. You have to stop the super-camels as they march across the landscape. Use your weapons to kill the terrifying camels. It's a lot of fun to play in combination with nostalgia. This remake is actually an improvement of its original. Note: To start the game press P and to quit press ESC.

  BI-NARY
This game has some very interesting and unique special graphical effects that I haven't seen anywhere else, and especially the animated mechanics of the character - very cool! The story revolves around a malicious computer virus that you have to kill. As you explore the virual "binary world", you will encounter other various obstacles so pick up all the health packs you can.

  Bachan-On
Bachan-On is a fun game with a weird storyline. In Bachan-On, you play as robotic grandparents trying to rescue their grandson, who is being possessed by Ronald McDonald. Strange, huh? Well, while the storyline is very weird, the gameplay is quite normal. You move your player around an arena, shooting at your opponent. You have three weapons per character at your disposal, which act differently depending on how you move around (jumping, dashing, walking, etc.). There are only two selectable characters, but they are very different from each other. Bachan-On feels like a mech game, and can best be compared to Astraia. And, much like Astraia, youll only have a chance at winning a round with the computer player once youve mastered the controls. Bachan-Ons controls are absolutely horrible, and if you dont get used to them, you may never fully appreciate this game. And no, you cant change them, either. However, if you can get used to the controls, Bachan-On is very fun. Bachan-Ons graphics would have been considered good ten years ago (the game WAS made almost ten years ago, by the way), but by todays standards, they suck. Theyre of the same caliber a blocky first-generation PS1 games graphics. If youve just finished a game of Splinter Cell, the graphics will appall you, but they shouldnt get too annoying. Bachan-Ons sound is pretty good for a freeware game, and again is reminiscent of an old PS1 games. The whirring noises of the mechs are particularly good. So, if you think you an bear the bad graphics and horrible controls, and you arent looking for a game that will take hours and hours to beat, youll probably like Bachan-On. Although, Im sure there will be a good many user comments saying d00d this gaem sux a$$ as well. And, it took me a good five minutes to figure out all the controls, so Ill save you the time and post them here.Player 1s Controls:Select Option (main menu)- EnterWalk forward, backward, and strafe- Home, End, Delete, and Page DownTurn left and right- Insert and Page UpJump- Keypad 5Cancel Jump- Keypad periodAttacks one, two and three- Keypad 2, 3, and 0Dash- Keypad 1 Player 2s Controls:Walk forward, backward, and strafe- W, S, A, and DTurn left and right- Q and EJump- RCancel Jump- V Attacks 1, 2, and 3- F, G, and CDash- X

  Bacteria 2
Bacteria 2 is an absolutely fantastic game for those who love logic games. The idea is simple, but oh boy, is it hard. There is a single player mode that you can play against the computer, or you can play against a friend, or even over a network. There is also an arcade mode with special spaces and walls. Anyway, on to how the game actually plays. There are two opposing teams. Let's say that I'm green. The game "board" appears as in the screenshot. Red is a computer, and has gone first. Now it is my turn. I have only 1 space at this point. The only thing you do is click on one of the pieces. I currently have no option, so I click on the piece at hand. When a piece is clicked on, it rotates clockwise. Arrows are on each piece, and any corresponding piece in the direction my first piece is facing is colored green. The computer again takes his turn, and so on, until one side or the other is completely enveloped by their opponent. This game features smooth graphics, music, and is a good download for anyone who loves a good puzzle.
